THREADED GARDENS

My project reimagines Holman Street in Houston’s Third Ward by addressing safety and lack of greenery through added vegetation, improved traffic control, and community-centered design. The architecture integrates rooftop gardens, communal kitchens, a thrift store, and a public library to foster sustainability, inclusivity, and connection among residents. With mass timber construction, angular building footprints, and terracotta façades, the design enhances both environmental and social vitality, including shaded spaces for markets along the Columbia Tap Trail.
